Engineering NVQ
The term “engineering” covers a broad range of careers and skills and, as a result, there are many different engineering NVQ’s. It does not matter what industry or organisation you work in, providing that the job role covers the requirements of the NVQ. Engineering NVQs are available in 3 levels: Level 2 - Aimed at those people who are: Semi skilled to skilled Who work in response to a supervisor or team leader Are able to identify problems and defects and report them to a team leader or supervisor for advice Are issued with work by a supervisor but can also make basic decisions.
Level 3 - Aimed at those: Wanting to become a skilled worker/technician With authority to make decisions on a course of action Who can identify problems or defects and can decide on the best course of action Who make the majority of decisions relating to a task but ultimately reports to a supervisor or manager Who are also able to give technical input, when required.
Level 4 This is aimed at the engineering manager. This person leads a team of staff, who are likely to competent at level 2 or 3, has authority for making key decisions, managing their own workload and that of others, often responsible for the safety of others at work and has an awareness of the financial impact decisions may have.
