CIEH Level 2 Principles of Manual Handling

Programme Overview

Manual handling causes over 30% of all reported accidents within the workplace. Approximately 60 million working days are lost in the UK every year due to manual handling related injuries.

This Half-day programme is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and guidance to carry out manual handling, this will include practical demonstrations of the correct way to lift, push, pull and carry in a safe manner.
 

Course Objectives

  • Be aware of new legislation
  • Know the principles of correct manual handling
  • Have an understanding of how incorrect lifting techniques may cause injury.
  • Confidently provide staff with the knowledge to undertake safe manual handling
  • Assess manual handling operations and implement risk reduction techniques
