This course is designed to provide trainees with the opportunity to practice each stage of audit from initial contact, through system review, planning, preparation, audit conduct, reporting and follow-up, using ISO 9001 as the base standard
The course is non-technical and is suitable for people from all backgrounds.
This course is designed for delegates who need to carry out and lead audits to contribute effectively to systems improvement in their organisations.
IRCA expects delegates to have the following prior knowledge:
a) Knowledge of the following quality management principles and concepts:
b) Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 9001, which may be gained by, on the job experience, through self study or completing an IRCA certified QMS Foundation training course or equivalent.
This training course has a strong bias towards practical learning. After an initial introduction to Quality principles and the ISO 9000 series course focuses on a 'live' audit of a simulated company. Feedback on performance is given and encouraged at each stage to facilitate learning.
There is a 2 hour written examination at the end of the course. The exam is open book; delegates can use their own notes taken while on hte course, the use of the delegate workbook and any other supplementary material provided including their copy of the International Standard (s) in question. The minimum pass rate for the examination is 70%.
