IRCA Registered Quality Auditor/ Lead Auditor Course (A17059)

Duration: 5 Days

The calibre of your lead auditor is crucial to the performance of your audit team, and ultimately to the success of your management system. This comprehensive five-day course provides hands-on training to ensure that your auditors thoroughly understands their roles and acquires the expertise needed to perform it effectively.

Delegates completing the course will be presented with an IRCA independently accredited certificate for lead auditors.

The Qualifcation

A 5 Day Programme in Association with a certified course holder, Managing for Quality Ltd

The course is certified by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA Course Number A17059).

This course is designed to provide trainees with the opportunity to practice each stage of audit from initial contact, through system review, planning, preparation, audit conduct, reporting and follow-up, using ISO 9001 as the base standard

Who is the Course For?

The course is non-technical and is suitable for people from all backgrounds.

This course is designed for delegates who need to carry out and lead audits to contribute effectively to systems improvement in their organisations.

IRCA expects delegates to have the following prior knowledge:

a)  Knowledge of the following quality management principles and concepts:

  • The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle.
  • The relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction.
  • Commonly used quality management terms and definitions and the 8 Quality Principles as given in ISO 9000.
  • The process approach used in quality management.
  • The Model of a Process Based Quality Management System, the structure and content of ISO 9001.

b)   Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 9001, which may be gained by, on the job experience, through self study or completing an IRCA certified QMS Foundation training course or equivalent.

Delivery & Assessment Method

Delivery Method:

This training course has a strong bias towards practical learning. After an initial introduction to Quality principles and the ISO 9000 series course focuses on a 'live' audit of a simulated company. Feedback on performance is given and encouraged at each stage to facilitate learning.

Assessment Method:

There is a 2 hour written examination at the end of the course. The exam is open book; delegates can use their own notes taken while on hte course, the use of the delegate workbook and any other supplementary material provided including their copy of the International Standard (s) in question. The minimum pass rate for the examination is 70%.
