A large proportion of the work carried out by Excel Precision Engineering is machine based. As a result the company required current quality systems and procedures to be developed and implemented throughout the organisation that would support deliver of the highest standards.
A series of meetings were enabling us to understand and outline Excel's training objectives and desired outcomes. We spent time at Excel Precision Engineering’s purpose built facility to enable us to fully understand the company’s requirements.
TSW designed a bespoke programme, including six quality management and efficiency modules, expertly tailored to Excel Precision Engineering’s requirements for developing the company’s procedures and systems, whilst developing staff to work with them. The 6 elements in this programme of interventions were:
- FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis)
- APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- TS16949 Training
- MSA (Measurement System Analysis)
- Power Press
Return on Investment
Only four weeks on from the training there have already been vast improvements recognised within the organisation. These include:
- A clear understanding throughout the business of the processes required within TS 16949
- The introduction of effective processes has improved communication within the organisation resulting in staff understanding the company’s vision
- The implementation of KPI’s and measurable goals

“After identifying the KPI’s and personnel required for quality training, we recognised the need for a training company with a sound understanding of the TS 16949 process and analysis training. TSW Training worked with us from start to finish to develop the programme and look at an in-depth gap analysis before carefully selecting training required. We now have quality systems in place that enable us to perform more efficiently.”

“I attended the training that TSW delivered and found it very informative and interesting. I have already seen improvements and can now identify risks in production. Furthermore I am better skilled to eliminate and avoid any errors that may occur.”
