Health and social care apprentice, Blake Clemett, wins TSW Training Apprenticeships' Learner of the Month in August 2021.

In August, TSW's Lead IQA, Kayleigh Paddick, nominated her health and social care apprentice, Blake Clemett, to be the TSW Training Apprenticeships' Learner of the Month.

He won, and little wonder why. He has achieved so much during his apprenticeship, giving his qualification, and workplace, all of his energy and passion.

Here is Kayleigh's testimony about why Blake should win Leaner of the Month...

A health and social care star

Blake is working towards his Level 3 Health and Social Care Adults qualification.

He put himself forward for the qualification through his workplace, taking responsibility for the requirement to be suitably qualified in the HSC sector, and to the correct level for his role.

"He always completes his action plan to an excellent standard."

Blake's role and commitments

Blake is working as a team leader in a busy workplace, supporting a team and students with varying needs. Blake is very passionate about his role and wants to get the best possible outcome for the students at the college.

Although he works many hours, and consistently commits to extra overtime, he always ensures he has time to commit to his learning programme. 

Blake takes ownership of his learning.

An exceptional standard of work

He always completes his action plan to an excellent standard. He has carried out further reading and research on areas that he identifies gaps in his understanding. Blake takes ownership of his learning.

Blake is hard working, very knowledgeable and passionate about his role.

Making a fantastic impact at work

Blake is working with his employer to develop easy read PBS plans for staff and students. The aim is to give students the opportunity to see for themselves what their care plans contain. The initiative means that staff who are not familiar with the students can easily see how to support students, providing a more positive experience.

Hard-working, knowledgeable and passionate

Blake is hard working, very knowledgeable and passionate about his role. He shows that he fully respects the students that he works with to ensure their needs, and outcomes are met.

He is passionate about his job and the sense of achievement he gets from supporting his team.
