Asbestos Awareness

Duration: Half Day

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 now require employers to provide appropriate training for all workers who are likely to be exposed to asbestos.

This course has been designed to meet the requirements of the regulations through a half-day theory based awareness session.

  • The dangers of asbestos
  • Types of asbestos containing materials and products within buildings
  • Legislation and guidance
  • Asbestos risk management
  • Everyone’s role in reducing risks
  • Where asbestos materials can be found
  • Asbestos waste
  • Emergency and accident arrangements
  • Control measures to prevent exposure
  • Management actions to prevent and reduce exposure

This course is ideal for individuals who may come into contact with asbestos including:

  • Construction Workers
  • Maintenance staff
  • Engineers and other professional trades person

For The Individuals:

  • Gain an understanding of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2012
  • Understand how to avoid exposure to asbestos
  • Receive an overview of the legislative measures in place to safeguard workers

For The Employers:

  • Build awareness and develop knowledge amongst site based employees
  • Educate employees to the hazards and risks posed by asbestos containing materials

No pre-course preparation is required for this course.
