The CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Refresher is aimed at individuals who hold a current CITB SMSTS certificate and wish to renew their qualification for another five years. The refresher is a highly interactive course taught through case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group presentations.
It is a mandatory requirement to renew your SMSTS certificate every 5 years, either by successfully completing a two-day SMSTS CITB Refresher course or by attending another full five-day SMSTS course. You must take this course before your certificate expires.
The refresher course is designed to ensure that personnel maintain and update their current health and safety knowledge. The refresher course covers changes to legislation, approved codes of practice and best working practice within the industry.
The refresher course lasts two days and is available in a classroom or virtually. It is a mandatory CITB requirement for delegates to attend both days, in a row.
This course is for anyone with an existing SMSTS certificate that is due for renewal, five years following the date it was last completed.
The refresher course is also perfect for updating knowledge on the changing legislation in the construction sector; it can be taken at any time in the five years, to ensure the highest standards are kept.
