The Level 3 Award in Coaching is ideal for practicing or aspiring Team Leaders and Managers who seek to provide a more supportive style of leadership to improve performance. This qualification will develop your capability to act as a workplace coach and your effectiveness at developing those around you.

This four-day programme equips delegates with the core knowledge, skills, behaviours and practical methods to plan and conduct effective coaching sessions. It is aimed at those who coach as part of their role and is designed to help them support the learning and development of individuals and teams.

  • The coaching contract, managing the process and record-keeping
  • Identifying and overcoming barriers to coaching

Undertaking coaching in the workplace

  • Identifying resources and providing a safe and effective environment
  • Agreeing on learning goals and conducting coaching assignments
  • Tools and techniques to facilitate and encourage personal development
  • Monitoring learning and development and using appropriate techniques to assess achievement
  • Maintaining accurate coaching records and using feedback

Reflecting on workplace coaching skills

  • Conducting reflective and evidenced analysis of own coaching practice
  • Appropriate communication, coaching strategies, tools and techniques when coaching
  • Reflecting on strengths and weaknesses as a coach and seeking ways to further develop knowledge, skills and behaviours
  • Planning future personal development and identifying how this will be monitored and reviewed – coach the coach

How is this Course Assessed?

Delegates will be assessed through:

  • The completion of a written work-based assignment.
  • The completion of a coaching diary to record their workplace coaching sessions.
  • A written reflection on their own personal learning and development as a coach.

Delegates will also need to carry out at least 6 hours of supervised coaching activity as part of the award.
