Active Inclusion Employability Tutor

TSW Training wishes to appoint an experienced, self-motivated and engaging Employability Tutor to deliver the WCVA-funded Active Inclusion ‘Bridgend Employment Path’ project to 6 cohorts of 12 participants during 2019.

Project Information

The WCVA-funded Active Inclusion project, the ‘Bridgend Employment Path’ has been created to provide an opportunity for participants aged 25+ from jobless households and/or with low skills based in the Bridgend region, to develop a range of employability skills that will support their ability to access and maintain employment.

Participants will work towards the Pearson Level 2 Award in Work Skills and in doing so be guided through such units as: Personal Need Analysis; Searching for Employment; Importance of Online Presence; The Recruitment Process; Resilience in Work and self-employment as a viable progression pathway.


Project delivery

Delivery of the Bridgend Employment Path will be between January and November 2019 to 6 cohorts of 12 participants (72 in total).

Each cohort will be delivered for 12 weeks, followed by a 4-week recruitment period to prepare for the next cohorts. Two cohorts will run simultaneously during the year, one cohort delivered on a Monday & Tuesday and the second on a Wednesday and Thursday.

Monday and Tuesday cohorts will be delivered in partnership with Remploy at Brackla House. There will be a need to source a second delivery venue for the Wednesday and Thursday cohorts. 

Project recruitment

Project recruitment will take place during the months of Nov/Dec 2018, April 2019 and August 2019. With support from TSW Training, it will be the responsibility of the tutor to recruit during these months. An agreement is in place with Remploy to provide approx. half the required participants. Other participants will be recruited from support organisations in the Bridgend region.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with a range of agencies local to Bridgend, including charities, referral agencies and support organisations to discuss the project and recruit potential participants
  • Attend various 3rd-sector networking events to promote the project
  • Meet potential participants to discuss the project, its benefits and outcomes
  • Develop and design schemes of work and course materials in association with TSW and in line with the qualification specification
  • Deliver teaching, learning and assessments to the quality standards required by TSW and the accrediting body
  • Put in place effective assessment and feedback strategies
  • Support participants in understanding how to find jobs, where to look and how to use technology to do so


  • Very organised with an ability to manage projects to completion
  • Ability to deal positively with a range of stakeholder at all levels
  • Experience of dealing with a range of support and referral agencies
  • Experience of both recruitment and delivery in comparable projects
  • Experience in designing and delivering learning for people with differing learning needs and from a range of backgrounds
