Skills for the Workplace

Heavily subsidised training in West Wales — delivered by TSW, funded in partnership with Pembrokeshire College

Upskill yourself or your team with recognised, job-ready qualifications at a fraction of the usual cost.

Through Skills for the Workplace, adults who live or work in West Wales can access free or heavily subsidised Level 3–5 training in priority sectors, with courses delivered by TSW and funding provided via our partnership with Pembrokeshire College.

The project is part-funded by the Skills and Talent Programme through the Regional Learning & Skills Partnership and the Swansea Bay City Deal.

Who is eligible?

To apply, applicants must meet all of the following:

  • Age: 16 or over
  • Where you live or work: Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot or Swansea
  • Residency: UK national, or you hold valid leave to remain in the UK
  • Status: Employed or unemployed (part-time students are eligible; full-time students are not)

Course costs with funding

While courses are heavily subsidised, they are not free. Applicants are required to make a contribution, which varies by course. This includes:

  • Employed individuals or
  • Employers applying on behalf of their employees

For example, to attend our ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management course, you would need to contribute £180. The course usually costs £1095+VAT, so this is a significant saving (84%). See the following table for all course prices:
